Block masons will receive a complete CMU list including the regular block, headers, bondbeam, lintel block, knock outs, halves, half-high, sill block, angle block, square pilasters, round column block, mortar, and sand. We also quantify the precast lintels, precast sills, and steel.
Q: What types of masonry projects do we estimate?
We provide masonry takeoffs for both private and public construction projects including all types of residential and commercial building projects.
Q: Why do concrete and block masons use our material estimating services?
Because we provide extremely accurate masonry takeoffs! Pre-bid meetings have the highest attendance levels ever recorded due to a slow construction market. There is more competition bidding work. In order to give you an edge over your competition you need the most competitive bids. We can help you tighten your bids.
Q: How do we send you the plans?
You can email us your scaled drawings whether a PDF file or a CAD file. If you use an online plan room we can download the drawings from there. Local contractors in the Tri-County area of Tampa, Florida can call or email us and we will gladly pickup your blueprints for free!
Q: What is our turnaround from the time we receive the drawings?
It varies depending on the project size and type. To give you an idea, we typically turnaround a complete masonry takeoff for a single or two-story residential home within 24-36 hours from receiving the plans! Turnaround times for commercial projects vary from project to project due to the size, complexity, and uniqueness.
Q: What type of document are the estimates and quantity surveys prepared in?
We primarily prepare all the masonry estimates in Microsoft Excel. We are also proficient with PlanSwift and Quest Residential Estimator. You can also email us one of your Excel spreadsheets that have your cost codes and material codes. We will input the quantities that we estimated into your spreadsheet. Then you can send out this material list to your vendors for pricing or you can import the spreadsheet into your estimating system for budgets. We can also input your labor and material unit prices that you provide us!
Q: What format are the estimates prepared in?
We can give you the material list in CSI MasterFormat or UniFormat. We can also prepare it based on the how you phase your work. For example all the stemwall block material and the wall block material with be separated, which makes it easy for ordering and scheduling deliveries. Or if you want us to customize the estimate to your needs we will gladly prepare it this way!
Q: What is your accuracy rate and what is the guarantee?
We staff a licensed block mason who has hands on experience laying block and brick, unlike other estimating consultants who are just bean counters.
Q: Why should my company outsource with your company?
In a nut shell, we are experts in material estimating. Most importantly, we can save you money because you do not need a full-time estimator and you do not need to invest in expensive estimating software. Many contractors purchase expensive software based on the recommendation of their estimator. Suddenly, that estimator is no longer employed with the company and you are stuck with a piece of estimating software that you do not know how to use. And now with the slow down in construction industry and the current state of the economy, why have another employee on your payroll! Outsourcing your estimating work is probably the easiest and most cost effective job your company can outsource. You can bid more projects and possibly win more bids.
Q: What are the fees for a concrete and masonry takeoff?
We can send you a Quote so you will know the fee upfront on any construction project.
Q: What areas of the country do we estimate masonry projects?
